On 11 Dec 2021, I co-organized a Verbal workshop on the topic Muttersprache, L1, Herkunftssprache …: terminologischer Pluralismus oder zu überwindendes „Wirrwarr“? at 46th Austrian Linguistics Conference (ÖLT) with Rudi de Cilia, Sabine Lehner, Martin Stegu and Eva Vetter. For details see here.

On 9 Nov 2021, I will be giving an invited online guest lecture in Prof. Miriam Locher's MA research seminar on English as a lingua franca at the University of Basel. The title of my talk is "Creativity and emergent multilingual practices in ELF interactions: Transient International Groups (TIGs) in VOICE".

On 8 Sept 2021, I will be giving a talk on TIGs and transient language contact in ELF interactions at LCTG5 (5th Conference on Language Contact in Times of Globalization). My talk will be concerned with code-switching, multilingual practices and the emergence of situational etiquettes.

On 1 July 2021, I participated in a panel on 'Diachronic pragmatics: New perspectives on spoken English from the twentieth century to today' convened by Elisabeth Reber (Univ. of Heidelberg/ Univ. of Würzburg) and Andreas Jucker (Univ. of Zürich) at the 17th International Pragmatics Conference (IPrA). My talk examined emergent pragmatic conventions, specifically inclusive vs. exclusive multilingual practices, in three Transient International Groups.
